I didnt hear all of it but I remember watching Quelaag's stream and her saying that Nanaya was a part of a cult that worshiped the frienzied flame, and she learned that in order to contact the gods you need to feel an emotion so strong the god is able to hear it and the only such emotion is pain, I dont know how true all that is or if I even remember it correctly but it would be reeeally cool if those 2 turn out to be Merika's perents, cause that would explain why the golden order is so foundamentally flawed

The greatsword of damnation looks very much like the one in the story trailer at 1.15, the latter looks more curved but for the rest it looks like the same weapon. Idk if its the same one or the hornsent had more of those, maybe not all exactly alike, and the components move, idk if by magic or life.

I was under the impression that the hornsent did that to them. The map area is guarded by the high inquisitor and the castles occupants are beheaded outside, all pierced by the inquisitor staffs. They put the great sword through him, as a form of punishment and torture. Unending torment for dabbling in the frenzied flame.

Midra is the best, most fair, most balanced boss in the whole dlc

Surpassed gael for me. Sure gael was fun but held back by ds3 mechanics. It’s just so easy to rollspam everything but his moveset is SUPER cool. Messmer though… has a gael level moveset, less bombastic but just as good. But he’s made better by elden ring mechanics where you actually have to be super precise with your dodges, which makes the fight that much more satisfying

Question : Is it possible for Messmer's curse to be a result of the Fell God ? He has the same red hair as Radagon. I believe he was Marika's first born but why are all of her children cursed ? I was obsessed with Artorias, Raime, Gael and Radahn. The wolf knight greatsword was my main weapon in all 3 darksouls games since its my favorite in the series even over the Moonlight Greatsword. Messmer won a new place in my heart and hes now my favorite boss in the entire game. If anything Messmer's existence is proof that Marika's order was far from perfect and the way she goes about hiding him is truly foul and its apparent her image was more important to her than her diligence. The other detail that immediately stood out to me is the love Messmer's army has for him. You can tell they all genuinely loved him which made me take different looks at him aside from the tyrant he was made out to be. I even felt Miquella deserved to die way more than Messmer did. It seems the events of Bonny village never left from Marika which is why she became so heartless. The last good deed she performed was ordaining the tarnished to become Elden Lord. Though in the end I can't help but feel she herself was tired of how abhorrent everything became.

Midra, Messmer and the final boss had killer music.

I loved the abyssal woods because the game suddenly turned into a horror game and you had to sneak. Even torrent was scared. Very memorable area.

I think the “endure” comment was meant to mean something along the lines of enduring his punishment. As long as he remained impaled by those golden barbs, the lord of frenzied flame would remain contained. Unfortunately it meant that Midra was left to suffer in agony and madness and in the end, when he was pushed to his very limit, he gave in and become the lord just long enough for our player character to take him down.

I wouldn't call the area annoying as much as scary, the other enemies that you can't directly fight are ones you can overpower later. This is the only area that had an enemy you can't fight. (Unless you parry them)
